The pictures here are a tribute to Capt Richard Annand VC.
'Dick' Annand was one of the 11 Durham Light
Infantry
winners of the ultimate award for bravery and was the only surviving DLI holder
of the award for many years until his death on Christmas Eve 2004.
Capt Annand's VC was the first Victoria Cross of the Second World War
awarded to the Army.
