Indoor Games 2008 - Results

 

The results of the Association Indoor Games held at the RBL Club, Dubmire, Fencehouses on Sunday 16 March were as follows:

 

            Darts:               Winners:                      Stockton

                                    Runners Up:                 Durham City

 

            Dominoes:       Winners:                      Consett & Stanley

                                    Runners Up:                 Darlington & Newton Aycleffe

 

            Whist:              Winners:                      Stockton

                                    Runners Up:                 Bishop Auckland

 

            Overall Champions:                 STOCKTON

 

Well done Stockton and all who attended the Games which were excellently organised by the host Branch, Houghton-le-Spring.

National Army Museum Black & Asian Heritage Project

 

If any Branch has black or Asian members within its ranks then could you please advise them of this project. 

 

What the National Army Museum wants is access to serving and past members of the Regiment who are willing to talk about their experiences whilst serving in the British Army.

 

Please advise the Secretary at The Rifles (Durham) Office of any positive response to this item.

 

   
 

Ambrose Cosgrove - kia Primosole Bridge

 

The great nephew of Ambrose Cosgrove, who was a Private with 6 DLI when he was killed on 17 July 1943 at the Battle of Primosole Bridge, is seeking contact with anyone who remembers him.

 

Please advise the Secretary if you have any positive response.

 

   
 

Gurkha Petition

 

Enclosed with this Bulletin (paper version) you will find a Petition Form which seeks to put pressure on the Prime Minister and the Government to allow serving and ex-members of The Gurkhas to automatically qualify for British citizenship and UK residence.

 

The completed forms should be sent to The Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street, London with a covering letter from the Branch.
