Flashback Television Ltd
The above company are seeking veterans who took part
in the Battle for Monte Cassino or the Tunisian Campaign. The programme they
wish to make will be part of a series on the History Channel in the US and
will be shown here on Sky's History Channel and possibly on Channel Four.
They would love to hear from men and women who served during the Campaigns

Iraq Sitrep 3 -10 May 06
A Light
Infantry Battle Group Sitrep is attached to
this Bulletin. You are encouraged to supply this information to your members to
counteract the media hype that surrounded the action mentioned and to highlight
the high morale that exists amongst Light Infantry troops despite the sometimes
hostile atmosphere in which they operate. |

The Somme 90th Anniversary Tour
The itinerary for the above tour is now available from the Light Infantry
Office. An apology for the 0630 start on the 29th of June, however this was
unavoidable if we wished to secure the Ferry crossing at 1425 hrs. If you have
members on this tour please ensure that you collect this information at the
Executive Meeting on Thursday 15 June 2006.

Sweepstake -
2006
This years
DLI
Sweepstake will be based on the Cambridgeshire Handicap run at Newmarket on
Saturday 30 September 2006.
Tickets will be available in June which will give branches almost 4 months to
sell their allocation.

Any veteran who took part in the action on the Greek
island of KOS which started on the 14th September 1943 is invited to communicate

Executive Committee Meeting
Please be advised that the next Executive Committee Meeting of the Association
will take place on Thursday 15 June 2006 at 1400 hrs in the Light Infantry
Office at Elvet Waterside, Durham. The Agenda for this meeting is enclosed with
this Bulletin. Will branches make every effort to be represented. |

Branch Minute Book & Financial Record
Branches are reminded that the Association Constitution
demands that they maintain a Minute Book and that adequate Financial
arrangements are in place. It is the responsibility of the Branch Chairman to
occasionally check that these requirements are met.

John Byrne VC
Our friends in Ireland who are in the process of erecting
a plaque to John Byrne VC are having difficulties with the local planning
authorities and have advised us that cannot meet their target date of the 5th of
June. They will keep us informed.
