Retirement – Colonel Wykeham

As previously informed the Light Infantry Secretary at Shrewsbury, Colonel Wykeham, retired on 31 January 2007 coincidental with the amalgamation with The Rifles.

Colonel Wykeham has done much for the DLI/Light Infantry including organising reunions in Shrewsbury and granting funds each year for the Association trips to France and other ceremonial issues. He has also granted many thousands of pounds for benevolence to old DLI members who have fallen on hard times.

It would be a nice gesture if Branches were to consider making donations for a farewell gift. These may be forwarded to The Rifles Office (formerly The Light Infantry Office) in Durham. A £25 central donation will be made.
