Sunderland Dogs - Christmas Party
Nights
Sunderland Dogs have offered to
cater for Christmas Party Nights on Wednesdays & Thursdays during December.
Party Packages will cost £5.00
per person and will include costs of admission & racecard, 1 drink (mixers
extra), your choice of a hot turkey sandwich served with roast potatoes and
gravy or cheese slice served with roast potatoes (v).

Memorial
Plaque - Pte Tom Griffiths
Arrangements are almost finalised
for a Memorial Plaque for Pte Tom Griffiths to be placed in the church at
Shotton Colliery on Sunday 25 February 2007.
Pte Griffiths, was killed in
action whilst serving with 1 DLI in Borneo (1966). He was the last DLI
soldier to be killed in conflict.
Full details will be issued when
all arrangements are known and confirmed.

City Of Sunderland - Change of Venue/Day
The City of Sunderland Branch have informed LI
Office that their branch meetings will now be held on
1st Wednesday of the month in the
Royal Artillery Club (Gunners), Mary Street, Sunderland. Please
amend your records accordingly.

Gateshead & Newcastle Branch -
change of meeting day
The Gateshead
& Newcastle Branch have informed us that they have changed the day for their
monthly branch meeting to the 1st Sunday in the month. The venue
remains the same.

South Shields - Programme of
Events
a) Ladies Dinner Night
The Branch will be holding a Ladies Dinner night on Saturday 2 December 2006.
Apologies for the late notice.
b) Pilgrimage - France
& Flanders
The Branch is organising a trip to France & Flanders in June 2007 and will visit
the areas in which
Capt Richard Annand VC
and Private Thomas Young VC won their medals.
c) Bronze Statues
The Branch will be placing bronze statues of Capt. Richard Annand VC and Pte
Thomas Young VC in the South Shields Town
Hall in mid-June 2007.

Social
The above
Branch will be holding a social on Sunday 10 December 2006 in the Royal
British Legion Club at Coatsworth Road, Gateshead starting at 12 noon.
