Representatives of Durham County Record Office are co-opted members of Committee of The Society of Friends of the Durham Light Infantry Regimental Museum.

The Durham County Record Office works with the Durham Light Infantry Museum and other DLI interest groups such as the DLI Association in securing the history and artefacts of the Regiment.

The Record Office holds an enormous DLI archive of documents and photographs.

It is continually working to preserve and catalogue new contributions of material as well as items acquired by the Friends and DLI interest groups.

Some of this material has been brought together, and actual documents can be viewed, in an area of the Record Office website known as The Learning Zone.

The Learning Zone, which is sub-divided into Units, includes topic areas of both local and national historical interest.

It is a valuable resource of documents and illustrations, as well as suggested activities, designed to link with, and support, the National Curriculum and also Adult Learning.
